Baby Diaper Wreath
A diaper wreath makes an excellent gift for expectant mothers. If you’ve ever wanted to make one you’ll be glad to know that it is a simple project that doesn’t require a lot of crafting experience. All you need is a craft foam wreath at least 12 inches in diameter, which is available at your local craft or craft section of your department store, about 16 diapers, rubber bands, ribbons, and baby accessories that you’d like to decorate it with.
The assembly is easy and will not require plenty of time. When choosing diapers or your wreath, you will need to determine whether or not you will use newborn sizes or larger. The smaller size diapers will give it a more organized, or orderly look, while the larger sizes will create the appearance of being more full or fluffy. It is important to let the mom-to-be know what sized diapers you use, so she can keep the wreath in its current state accordingly. If you use larger sizes, she might choose to keep it in tact until she is ready to use the diapers and accessories.
To create it, you will open up the diaper and slip it over the wreath. The bottom part of the diaper will be on top and the decorative waistband will be pointing downwards and facing front. Once you place the diaper over the wreath, secure it with a rubber band. A rubber band will ensure that the diaper will not move, and lessen the risk of any of your items becoming loose. Once you have secured the diapers, you can cover the rubber bands with decorative ribbons of your choice. Attach the items that you like either by a rubber band or double sided tape, depending upon the size of the item.
To create a wreath, you simply open the diaper and place it over the wreath foam shape. Make sure that the front part, or the waistband of the diaper, is facing front and down. After you slip the diaper over the wreath, secure it with a rubber band. You can then attach other items by adding another band, or tying them on with fanciful ribbon. Many diapers are available in cartoon, or other colorful decorations making it easy to find diapers that will complement the theme of the wreath as well.
